Privacy notice
Last updated: 21 September 2026
We keep this simple: we only use your data to look after you and your dog. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who is responsible
Patricia, trading as Pat's Pretty Pups (Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, UK), is responsible for your data. For any privacy question or request, message us on WhatsApp at +44 7490 682340.
What data we use and why
When you contact us or book a service (usually by WhatsApp or Instagram) we may receive:
- your name and phone number, and the messages you send us;
- details about your dog (name, breed, size, coat, age, health or behaviour notes that matter for their care);
- your address, only if you ask for pick-up and drop-off;
- appointment and payment details.
We use them to reply to you, agree and manage appointments, provide the service, and keep the records we need for accounts.
Client reviews
Our website shows reviews that clients have written about our Dog Sitting service (originally posted on Rover). Each review appears with the reviewer's first name and the initial of their surname (or first name only), the month it was written and the text they wrote. We do not publish photos of reviewers. If you would like your review changed or removed, message us on WhatsApp and we will do it as soon as we can.
Our legal basis
We use your data to take steps at your request before a booking and to carry out the service you ask for (contract); because it is in our legitimate interest to run and answer enquiries for our business; and to meet legal obligations such as keeping accounting records.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We talk to you through WhatsApp and Instagram (Meta), so their own privacy policies also apply to those conversations. We only share information with anyone else when it is needed to provide the service or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details and your dog's details for one year after your last appointment. After that we delete or anonymise them, except for records the law requires us to keep for longer (for example, accounting records).
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools, and it does not load fonts, icons or scripts from other companies: everything comes from the site itself, so your visit is not sent to third parties.
If you choose a language or a light/dark theme, your browser remembers that choice on your own device (local storage). It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok take you to those companies' sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask us to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give you a copy in a portable format. Message us on WhatsApp and we will reply as soon as we can, and within one month at most.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
